Obejrzałem i muszę przyznać, że to wygląda lepiej niż "Iron Man"! :o

PS: Dlaczego Natalie Portman nie gra w Batmanach, to chyba moja ulubiona aktorka, a Nolan ją przeoczył w castingu, oby zagrała w TDKR... ;)

No a ten rzeczywiście nic nowego nie pokazuje.

Q

What was the point of all those push-ups if you can't even lift a bloody log?

Si vis pacem, para bellum (If you want peace, prepare for war)

Coraz lepiej to wygląda.

Thor - Another year, another superhero movie. After last years lackluster performances in this genre, this year promises to be what the fans are hoping for with four major heroes having their movies released on our asses. The first one is obviously Thor. How did it fair, you ask?

Well, it wasn’t great but it wasn’t mediocre either. I liked it a bit better than Iron Man 2, and don’t get me wrong, I’m one of those guys who actually enjoyed Tony Stark’s latest flick. A part from having an appearance by Stan Lee and both being Marvel’s heroes, what these movies got going for them is the humor. Both are fun and mash well within their film universe. What Thor does better are the action sequences and it actually has better performances from its leads. Okay, maybe not counting RDJ, but still, where I thought the villain and sidekick where bland in IR2, here their better written and definitely better acted.

Unorthodoxly let me start by mentioning the acting, since it’s the highlight of the movie. Chris Hemsworth is an action star in the making. If you’ve seen him without the shirt you’ll know what I mean. But here he’s much more than just muscles, as he captures the young god’s recklessness and child-like optimism perfectly. He’s also a very proud warrior and it should be a whole lot of fun seeing he’s ego clash with Tony Stark’s and the leadership of Captain America. Not to mention seeing a fight between Thor and Hulk. Can’t wait for that. His Machiavelli-type brother, Loki, is played incredibly well by Tom Hiddleston, who’s the true scene stealer, thanks to his character being one of the better written villains of last few years. Hiddleston plays him with such vulnerability it’s unique for a bad guy, but he never crosses the boundary to become a whining king’s brat. He’s got a true reason for his actions that’s both moving and understandable, which I really liked. Other cast members are alright if you count the residents of Asgard. They seem like a merry band of brothers… and sisters, and the actors definitely have fun playing their over the top parts. Ray Stevenson was great, Jaimie Alexander as well, plus she was incredibly hot, and Idris Elba was a badass. I’m not that fond of the earth characters, that’s including Natalie Portman’s character. They didn’t play it bad but if in a movie about Nordic gods (one of whom is black and the other Asian) and Ice Giants, the human characters are least likely and their relationships feel forced, you know there’s something wrong. I guess they were just underdeveloped and that made the change in Thor’s character less probable, as he could use more time on Earth for me to truly believe he cared for the ‘earthlings’ as much as he did.

The story is alright, but again if you don’t count the earth’s storyline which mainly serves as the comedic filler. Earth’s never really in any danger throughout the entire movie. The meaty part of the plot is the brotherly love and rivalry which is presented really good. Loki and Thor have great chemistry and even if they eventually become enemies, you still see they care about each other. Sadly the whole hero’s journey felt a bit “been there, done that”, like you know how’s it going to end and I even wanted for them to move on with the Thor’s storyline for the big climax, which I don’t normally do. There’s no real threat to these super immortal beings so I wanted at least to see them kick ass and I haven’t got that, at first. The big fight on earth is a huge letdown, huge. They make up for it with Loki’s and Thor’s climax but that’s mainly because of how both actors interacted during the fight, how their growth, emotions and choices made it really interesting. Still, there are no surprises in this puppy, from start to finish you’ve got it all played out in your head. Especially if you know the comics and/or have seen the 4 minute Comic-Con(?) footage, which was probably my biggest mistake from which I thankfully learned by never seeing trailers for Cap Am, GL or X-Men... Or maybe the whole superhero formula starts to wear down. I guess I’ll have to wait for the rest of the summer and evaluate it then.

Moving on to the visuals, I have to admit they’re pretty amazing to look at. Asgard’s design is downright beautiful and how you’d imagine it to be. The Ice Giant’s planet is also incredibly well generated as the dark, cold and creepy place. However this is the place where I had one of my bigger problems â€" the 3D makes this dark planet look REALLY dark. I was cleaning my glasses like crazy, cause I thought it’s maybe because of them I couldn’t see any details of the environment. The same can be said about the opening night scene where Natalie finds Thor. During the storm I couldn’t make out what’s going on. I guess that might have been the idea for us to be in the middle of the storm but c’mon, let me see something. It bothered me cause it was even more shaddy during the action sequences when I actually wanted to see it in 3D. When it’s bright it looks sweet though, and the wormhole moments are amazing.

Like I said at the beginning, I liked it, I didn’t love it. I’m afraid it maybe because I’m getting tired of these sort of movies and how similar the tone of Marvel movies is. If it wasn’t for Hiddleston and Hemsworth this movie would feel more like an advertisement for The Avengers, than a stand alone flick. I’m not sure how do they see the planned sequel for Thor but story-wise there’s definitely room for improvement. Thankfully there’s also a lot they need to bring back, since they captured the essence of the main protagonists so well.

Thor

- dodatkowo by? jeszcze bardziej przewidywalny.

W?a?ciwie to najwi?ksz? wad? The Avengers, to ju? nie mog? si? doczeka?. :)

Dialogi miejscami naprawd? naci?gane i g?upie, no ale có?. Muzyka te? ?rednia. Mówi? wam, podczas rozwoju akcji stopniowo zaczynamy go rozumie?, a nawet wspó?czu? (tak by?o w moim przypadku :P).

A wi?c 6+/10.
